Company Merger - Which company name to use on resume?

Question:

I am currently employed for a company that was bought out. In the merger, my job and I were retained, however the company name is new. On my resume, should I put the old company name, new name, or both?

Answer:

To not appear as a job hopper, we would recommend using the below company name format on the resume.  This format shows the current and former name of your employer.  Under this heading you can include all of your positions while employed at the company.

XXX Corp. (formerly YYY Inc.)
