Hi everyone,
Thanks for such a great website. Lots of really helpful information here.
I've got a quick question: In what cases should I write a thank you letter and send it via snail mail or via email? Does everyone prefer email, or will a printed letter via USPS snail mail make a better impression?
BTW, when I was interviewing I was AMAZED at how few people actually took the time to send a thank you letter at all. I just assumed that these days everyone did it.
Thanks again for the website and this forum!

Hey Nifty-Stuff,
Personally I prefer the snail mail thank you letter, as it definitely stands out. However the question here is timing. Are they (hiring manager) making a decision for the job in the next few days? If yes, time is of the essence, therefore send an email. However, if they will be making the decision on who to hire 2 weeks out (for example), send it via snail mail. In addition to standing out by sending the thank you letter via snail mail, you will also make yourself front of mind for the hiring manage at decision time.
