To begin writing your customer service resume using a Functional Resume Layout, begin with a qualification overview. These are bullet point skills that highlight the skills most relevant to the position. Note the use of terms such as "results-oriented", "skilled", "proven", etc. Next the resume breaks out the professional background into sales and customer service, demonstrating the candidate has both skill sets - not only the ability to manage an account, also the ability to up-sell the client on new products and/or services. Education is listed next on the resume example, followed by employment history and professional affiliations.
